I’m pretty sure that my husband, Jeff Stroud, has been kicking up lots of dirt on his KTM in heaven since we lost him to brain cancer on September 19, 2015. We miss him terribly, but have no doubt that he is fully healed and restored with the Lord. God gave me the promise in 1Peter 5:10 two days before he died. Then I understood that Jeff’s healing would occur in heaven and our healing would happen in this world.

And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 1Peter 5:10

You can read Jeff’s story at Caring Bridge (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/jeffstroud) beginning with Jeff’s diagnosis of Grade 4 Glioblastoma in May of 2014. I continued writing a few entries after his death, but I wasn’t sure how my story would go on without him. This week I began grief counseling as I try to work through God’s revelations, my thoughts, feelings, and the past two years of experiences that I never could have imagined. I pray that my journey will encourage you and strengthen your faith.

To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. Isaiah 61:3 (KJV)
